Event Horizon (1997)

It's Friday the 13th at the Theatre Royal, and a chance to get together for something appropriate for all our local supporters of the spooky. At the same time, we're still feeling the loss of the great Sam Neill, and wanted to give him another tribute. Thus... See Event Horizon (Paul W. S. Anderson, 1997) on the big screen, following a special pre-roll put together for the occasion. In 2047, the crew of the rescue vessel Lewis and Clark, led by Captain Miller (Laurence Fishburne), are sent to investigate and salvage the starship Event Horizon which disappeared mysteriously on its maiden voyage, seven years before. Accompanied by the ship's designer, Dr. Weir (Sam Neill), the crew boards the derelict ship to search for survivors. However, it soon becomes evident that something sinister resides in its corridors, and not all is as it seems. Part sci-fi, part horror film, and a proper reminder that in a haunted house on a spaceship... no one can hear you scream.
