North By Northwest (Alfred Hitchcock, 1959)

Remembering Hollywood legend Eva Marie Saint (1924-2026) Eva Marie Saint is one of the smartest and most memorable of Hitchcock's blondes, in this rollercoaster ride that spans cities and rural landscapes across the United States - part action thriller, part romantic comedy, part hallucinatory masterpiece. Advertising agent Roger O. Thornhill (Cary Grant) is mistaken for a secret agent slash assassin and becomes embroiled in a web of deadly intrigues. Suspected of murdering a United Nations diplomat, Thornhill escapes with the help of the mysterious Eve Kendall (Saint) and miraculously survives an attempt on his life, living through some of Hitchcock's most famous setpieces along the way. One of only two MGM films made in VistaVision, this is a feat of the cinematic form that absolutely must be experienced on the big screen in all its unique glory. Join us at the Theatre Royal as we remember this spectacular classic and celebrate the everlasting cool of Eva Marie Saint.
