Duo Andalus will bring their intimate performance to this year’s Chutzpah! Festival. LALA Tamar and Ofer Ronen are two accomplished musicians who come together in this intimate encounter of voice and strings, sounds and cultures. They create a journey in song and story through the lands of the Mediterranean Sea and North Africa. LALA is known as a diva of Moroccan Arabic groove that breathes vibrant new life into Andalusian, Flamenco, and Middle Eastern musics. She is a collector of lost stories and women’s songs in Haquetia, the Moroccan Ladino language. Accompanied by the virtuoso guitar of Ofer, the duo masterfully weaves a concert of tenderness and depth, enchanting listeners into a ritual that celebrates the roots of three cultures in one.
