Axl and his wife Beatrice live in ancient Britain, the Romans have gone leaving friction between Britons and Saxons. A dragon, Querig, breathes out a mist that causes amnesia, making people forget their personal past mistakes. Mabinogion readers will be reminded of a magical mist that descended upon Dyfed; of the Giant Brân; of various ogres and strange beasts; of Annwn and the Welsh Otherworld.
