John Showman and Chris Coole bring their unmistakable blend of fiddle, banjo, song and spontaneous musical interplay to the intimate stage at The Vill. Longtime collaborators in acclaimed groups including The Foggy Hogtown Boys and The Lonesome Ace Stringband, Showman and Coole have developed the kind of musical connection that can only come from thousands of hours spent playing together. Their music occupies a wonderfully hard-to-define place somewhere on the outskirts of old-time, bluegrass and folk - where the songs of John Hartford, Hank Williams, Dock Boggs and The Band can sit comfortably alongside the fiddle traditions of Eck Robertson and Ed Haley. Add Showman and Coole's own original songs and tunes, and the result is music deeply rooted in tradition without ever feeling stuck in the past. Together, they have performed across North America and Europe and appeared at celebrated festivals including MerleFest, RockyGrass, Grey Fox, Winnipeg Folk Festival, Mariposa, Wintergrass, Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival, and The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum.
