He cofounded LabCentral and the Kendall Square Association and served as inaugural Chair of both. He was previously a lecturer at MIT, a manager at BCG, an analyst at Mitsubishi Research Institute, and a venture partner at New Atlantic Ventures. He holds an MBA from MIT Sloan and a BA from Amherst College, and speaks Spanish and Japanese fluently. ・デニース・メドリンカ CEO/ Denyse Medlenka, CEO CICのCEOとして経営全般と戦略を統括し、成長・収益性・業務の強化を推進。2022年にChief People Officerとして入社して人事機能を築き、2024年にCOO、続いてPresidentに就任し、全社変革を主導。スタートアップからグローバル企業まで、監査・財務・人事・マーケティング・カスタマーサービスの部門を牽引。ケンダル・スクエア協会理事。 As CEO of CIC, Denyse Medlenka oversees the company's management and strategic direction, driving growth, profitability, and operational excellence. She joined CIC as Chief People Officer in 2022 and built its HR function. In 2024 she became COO and then President, leading a company-wide transformation. She has led audit, finance, HR, marketing, and customer service teams at startups and global enterprises, and serves on the board of the Kendall Square Association. ・ヴィクター・ムラス / Victor Mulas Chief Innovation Officer & President, CIC Catalyst 20年以上にわたり世界各地のイノベーションやスタートアップ・エコシステムに携わり、政府や多国籍企業に戦略を助言。世界銀行に12年以上在籍し、「開発のための破壊的技術プログラム」や東京開発ラーニングセンターなどを主導。CICのグローバル戦略アドバイザーを経て、2024年2月に現職に就任。CIC初の Chief Innovation Officer として2024年2月に現職。 Victor Mulas is CIC's first Chief Innovation Officer and President of CIC Catalyst. He has more than 20 years of global experience in innovation and startup ecosystems, advising governments and multinational companies on strategy. During his 12-plus years at the World Bank, he led programs such as the Disruptive Technology for Development Program and the Tokyo Development Learning Center. He was a global strategic advisor to CIC before taking his current role in February 2024. ・クリス・ウォーラ / Chris Walla Senior Director of Strategy & Partnerships CICのStrategy & Partnerships担当Senior Directorとして、ニューヨーク市が1億ドルを投じるクライメートテック拠点「BATWorks」の立ち上げを主導。 クライメートテック・ディープテック分野でグローバルなスタートアップ支援基盤の構築・拡大に携わり、Amazon、三菱、Unilever、日立等とのパートナーシップを実現。 前職のNewlabでは、グローバル事業開発を統括したほか、Dogpatch Labsでは企業連携・プログラム推進を担当。 Chris Walla is Senior Director of Strategy & Partnerships at CIC, where he leads the launch of BATWorks, a $100 million climate-tech innovation hub funded by the City of New York.Chris has extensive experience building and scaling global startup platforms in climate and deep tech, and has secured partnerships with leading companies including Amazon, Mitsubishi, Unilever, and Hitachi.Previously, he led global business development at Newlab and was responsible for industry partnerships and program development at Dogpatch Labs. ・梅澤 高明 / Tak Umezawa CIC Japan 会長 東京大学法学部卒、MIT経営学修士。KEARNEYの日米オフィスで30年にわたり、戦略・イノベーション・組織・都市開発の分野で企業を支援。国内最大級のスタートアップ拠点CIC Tokyoの立ち上げを主導し、現在は東京・福岡の2拠点で約450社とともにイノベーションコミュニティを構築。内閣府知的財産戦略本部 本部員。 Tak Umezawa is Chairman of CIC Japan. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Tokyo and an MBA from MIT. Over 30 years at Kearney's Japan and U.S. offices, he advised companies on strategy, innovation, organizational transformation, and urban development. He led the launch of CIC Tokyo, one of Japan's largest startup hubs, and today builds innovation communities with about 450 member companies across CIC's Tokyo and Fukuoka campuses. He is also a member of the Cabinet Office's Intellectual Property Strategy Headquarters. ・加々美 綾乃 / Ayano Kagami, Director, CIC Catalyst APAC 東京大学理学系研究科生物化学専攻博士課程単位取得退学(博士(理学))、マサチューセッツ工科大学修士課程修了(システム・デザイン&マネジメント)。2012 年に文部科学省に入省しライフサイエンス政策や国立研究開発法人日本医療研究開発機構( AMED )の設立に従事。2017 年にマサチューセッツ工科大学に留学、スタートアップエコシステムを研究。帰国後、内閣府政策統括官(科学技術・イノベーション担当)や文部科学省核融合分野担当を経て 2021 年に CIC に転職。現在はライフサイエンス分野のスタートアップの成長支援や海外展開支援等に従事。 With a Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Ayano has significant experience in research and development policy on life science and medical areas, having worked at MEXT. Ayano’s international experience includes studying at MIT, where she contributed to research on life sciences ecosystems and the global expansion of shared wet labs for startups. Joining CIC in July 2021, she is now responsible for startup support programs, overseas expansion initiatives, and the development of life sciences-related business ventures. ・石飛 恵美 / Megumi Ishitobi, Site Director, O-Nexus 大阪・関西を拠点に、大阪イノベーションハブで約10年間スタートアップ支援に従事。テック系スタートアップ分野のピッチイベントや国際カンファレンスの企画・運営、パートナーシップの構築、コミュニティづくり、スタートアップと国内外のパートナー企業・団体をつなぐ場づくりを専門とする。 Based in Osaka/Kansai, Ishitobi spent approximately 10 years supporting startups at Osaka Innovation Hub. She specializes in planning and managing pitch events and international conferences in the tech startup space, as well as building partnerships and fostering communities, working to create platforms that connect startups with domestic and international partner companies and organizations. ・溝手 翠 / Midori Mizote, CIC Catalyst APAC 米国州立大学を卒業後、デロイトトーマツコンサルティングにてAI・ロボティクス業界の戦略案件等に従事し、同業界の事業会社にて米国でのサービスローンチをPMとして推進。その後、米国発スタートアップの日本拠点立ち上げ・拡大を事業開発リードとして牽引。現職では環境領域のスタートアップ支援・オープンイノベーションプログラムの設計・運営に携わる。 A graduate of a U.S. state university, Midori started her career at Deloitte Tohmatsu Consulting, where she worked on strategic initiatives in the AI and robotics industries. Midori later took on a leadership role in launching services in the U.S. for a robotics company, followed by spearheading the establishment and growth of a U.S.-based startup’s Japanese branch as a business development lead. Currently, Midori specializes in supporting startups in the environmental sector and manage open innovation programs. ・谷口 理沙 / Risa Taniguchi, Project Manager, CIC Catalyst APAC 大阪大学卒業、東京科学大学 環境・社会理工学院 技術経営専門職学位課程に在籍中。大学卒業後、東京都に行政職として入庁し、教育・医療・スタートアップ支援などに従事。2023年にはアクセラレーターに出向しフード・アグリ分野の協業支援を担当。2024年6月より現職、 フード・GX領域のスタートアップの成長支援を担当。 After graduating from Osaka University, joined the Tokyo Metropolitan Government as a public officier, working in areas such as education, healthcare, and startup support. In 2023, seconded to Plug and Play Japan, where managed an accelerator program focused on foodtech. Since June 2024, Risa has been supporting the growth of startups in the environmental and food sectors.
