The song is not only popular in Indonesia but is also sung in Taiwanese, Japanese and Cantonese during the 20th Century. SOLO—as the name of the Indonesian river and also as an one-man show, the work aims to mix the stories of post war Taiwan, Japan and Indonesia into one melody. Ahead of the performance, the artist will also give a talk exploring the cultural context of cover music in East and Southeast Asia.
